Walk-in Fruit Cages
THE LEAD TIME ON CAGES IS 2 WEEKS FROM ORDER AT PRESENT.
Walk-in Fruit Cages are perfect for protecting larger bushes and small trees.
Our walk-in Fruit Cages are constructed using our 8ft tubes as verticals to give a full head height of around 6' 6" once constructed.
The Fruit Cage walls are covered with strong 18mm square black netting whilst roofs have lighter weight green knitted netting.
Supplied as a complete kit including aluminium tubes, UV-stabilised polypropylene moulded plastic connectors, netting and pegs.
All our Walk-in Fruit Cages also include a door kit meaning you have easy access to your Fruit and Vegetables. Additional door kits are available if you need to add to your cage.
Fruit Cages are not designed to withstand loading from settled snow. If snow is forecast, roof nets should be removed to prevent damage to the frame.
Due to the surface areas of netting involved, large walk-Fruit Cages may be vulnerable to strong winds and should not be located in exposed areas. If you are purchasing a large Fruit Cage and are concerned about the suitability of your site, please contact us to discuss the positioning.

6x8 frame
Bought this to protect raised beds from birds. Good value. Couple of the plastic 4-point joints snapped, which I fixed by inserting old wooden pencil since this is same as internal diameter of plastic joints.
Product is very good but instructions were for a different product which caused issues during construction. Would buy again though as product is sound
Good value for money but a few improvements could be made
We bought a large walk-in fruit cage to protect our raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and gooseberries. This was the best value for money cage that we could find on the internet or phoning local garden centres. Delivery actually came quite quickly despite warnings from the supplier that there could be delays. For the price, this is good value for money although there are two components that are pretty poor in my opinion: (1) U-clips are used to attach the net to the uprights and cross-bars. This clips come off very easily and you're better off buying a pack of 200 cable ties which do a better job than the u-clips and are cheap and easy to apply. (2) The connectors used to hold the cross-bars joining each other and the uprights are quite weak so you have to be very very careful constructing the cage. We had 3 of us doing it - i.e. plenty of people holding the weight - but still managed to break two connectors where the plastic shears off due to the weight of the cross-bar. Luckily they do give you some extra connectors to replace the inevitable broken ones. Unfortunately there were not enough replacements and where you have an upright then connecting to 4 cross-bars, there is an immense load to initially fit together - for this one, we made our own connector using some sawn-off metal bolts that were much stronger than this quite weak plastic. Final thing - there were no assembly instructions included in the pack so you will need to be a little creative. Seems an easy issue for them to address and to have a video online showing people how to put the cages together.
Mixed fruit still producing
As the fruits are currently fruiting inside a diy cage ,I am unable to either check or build the cage , this will happen after the Blueberries have finished , probably late summer. I hope the cage is complete ( still wrapped up ) and does a good job .
Mixed experience
I was very satisfied with the after sales service I received. The assembly instructions could have been better and the joint pieces are not very strong but overall I am very happy with the result.
Looks Good
Not put it up yet but what has arrived looks impressive. Would be better if there were some proper instructions sent with it. I have brought an 18'x24' cage and I think it is going to be interesting trying to work out how to put it all together and fit the door.
Fruit cage
Advice and and buying all good not put up yet
Instructions
My partner is experienced in putting items together but if someone was not you should please send through instructions with the package. Happy with the result now installed. We bought some extra ties for the netting as we felt a few more would be beneficial. Doing the job keeping off the birds.
Large walk in fruit cage.
I orded the largest size of 24 X 24 feet. Getting the cage took about a week to be ready for delivery which should have been next day but took longer to arive than that, but there was a weekend and a bank holiday in the way. So a week after placeing the order to dispatch and the less than a week for delivery, not bad but it would be nice to know that they aim for less than a fortnight delivery instead of order, wait a weak then get the message that it has been dispatched, then wait to recieve it. All the main parts were present and there was extra netting and clips. Metal tubes seem to be robust and up to the job. Whole thing is assembled and now just needs planting.
Walk in Fruit cage
Some instructions would have been useful as it needs to be erected in position. The plastic pole joiners were brittle and snapped when trying to move the frame into position after assembly. Once sorted, a nice looking result but we have concerns about the durability of these joint fixings. Any suggestions?
Between the showers
The cage is now up having arrived in two lots despite MF sending it all together. Putting it up took time because everyone assumes that the area is flat and there are more challenges when erecting it on a slope that drops 20cm in 6 metres. Order took time to be processed despite previous reviews suggesting that delivery was within a couple of days. Product is very good indeed.
Looking good
So far it all looks good. I am happy with the frame. I am a bit concerned about the door closure. I don't think it will work very well in actual usage but time will tell.
Excellent quality
Excellent quality great service and value for money
walk in fruit cages
The cage is good - it would be helpful to have had a more explicit set of instructions to build it - the principles are there but some explanation fo the different items place in the construction would add to ease - especially as regards what netting to put where and how the door fits in. Iy’s up and working.
CAGY
Very good easy to assemble simple but effective and take care with joints when fitting top. Delivery time scale did not tie up with info on order?
